independent narrative game studio

We build
worlds you
can hold.

Tin Universe makes story-driven tabletop games from documents, artifacts, physical evidence and difficult choices. We want the world to stay with you after the game is packed away.

Why we
make this.

Tin Universe began with a simple frustration: too many stories disappear when the screen goes dark. We wanted to make the opposite—stories that arrive as letters, photographs, sealed files and objects you can turn over in your hands.

We are an independent studio, and we are interested in a specific kind of experience: the moment fiction stops feeling distant and begins to occupy the table in front of you.

We do not begin by asking how much will fit inside the box. We begin with a feeling we cannot shake, then decide what the player needs to find, handle and choose.

Tin Universe / studio statement 001

Our working principles

Story should survive contact.

A physical game is not a screen translated into cardboard. Touch, weight, sequence, concealment and discovery are part of the language.

01 / MEANING

Every object needs a reason.

A letter, token, map or metal piece should change what the player understands or chooses—not exist only to fill a component list.

Form follows narrative pressure
02 / AGENCY

The player completes the world.

We build spaces for suspicion, interpretation and consequence. The player is not watching the story from outside; their judgment becomes part of it.

Investigation before explanation
03 / AFTERLIFE

Launch is not the ending.

Updates, community records and the worlds around our games should remain accessible. A project deserves a life beyond its campaign page.

Built beyond the campaign
Current universes

Two files. Two kinds of unease.

Our projects do not share the same rules or setting, but they share a belief: the physical evidence should make the impossible feel uncomfortably close.

Production partnerships

Unusual games need practical answers.

Original worlds are our core work. We also support selected international tabletop projects that need a reliable path from finished design to physical production.

We are not a factory, and we do not pretend to be one. We work with a mature network of specialist manufacturers, then help creative teams turn finished designs into clear production plans. Scope is agreed project by project.

01 / REVIEW

Pre-production review

Manufacturability checks, component specifications, file readiness and early risk identification before tooling or mass production.

02 / SOURCE

Materials & custom components

Suitable production options across paper engineering, boards, plastics, wood, metal, textiles and specialty finishes.

03 / SAMPLE

Sampling & coordination

Prototype and pre-production sample coordination, revision tracking and communication across specialized suppliers.

04 / READY

Production-ready delivery

Packaging structure, pack-out planning and preparation for handoff to the project’s chosen freight or fulfillment route.

How a universe takes shape

From a feeling to evidence.

The process changes from project to project, but it usually begins with an emotion and ends with something the player can hold, inspect or decide.

01

A feeling stays with us

Fear, doubt, responsibility or memory usually comes before the mechanics.

02

Rules create pressure

Choices turn atmosphere into something the player must act on.

03

The story becomes physical

Documents and artifacts give the fictional world weight and space on the table.

04

Players carry it forward

Updates and shared records let the world continue after the first box is opened.

What we owe the player.

Respect their timeMystery should reward attention, not hide behind unnecessary friction.
Make the object matterPhysical material should earn the space it occupies on the table.
Keep promises visibleProgress, changes and ongoing records should be easy to find.
Correct the recordWhen something changes, clarity matters more than pretending it did not.
