An institutional horror tabletop investigation game
The Altered: Anomaly Containment Archives
Anomaly Containment Archives
Enter the B.A.R. Division as an Evaluation Commissioner. Read the dossiers, handle the evidence, reconstruct damaged memories and decide whether each Signator is still human.
A case file you can physically enter.
Rather than giving you a conventional board, The Altered puts an archive on the table: dossiers, recovered memories, institutional forms, evidence, tools and rulings. You learn the case by learning how the archive works.
You are an Evaluation Commissioner working for the B.A.R. Division in New Harbor.
Each Signator arrives with a record that refuses to stay coherent. Their testimony conflicts with the evidence. Their memories have been edited. Their bodies may already be changing.
Your task is not merely to discover what happened. You must determine what the institution is willing to call human—and sign the ruling that follows.
Investigate. Identify. Adjudicate.
Every case moves through the same official procedure. The outcome does not.
Investigate
Open sealed files, compare testimony, decode records and examine the physical archive for contradictions.
Identify
Track Stability, Resonance and Overload while deciding which evidence can be trusted.
Adjudicate
Issue a binding ruling. Your decision determines what is contained, what is released and what the archive reveals next.
Dense by design.
Built to be handled.
A physical archive built to be opened, sorted and compared—not displayed and left untouched.
Open the files, spread them across the table and cross-reference what you find. The archive itself is the interface.
Seven lives.
One corrupted archive.
The public records below are incomplete. The sealed material is not.

New Harbor / Sanctuary Group / B.A.R. Division
The institution is part of the anomaly.
In New Harbor, the system does not simply contain the Altered. It defines them. Every procedure hides a motive. Every ruling creates a consequence. And every Commissioner eventually becomes part of the record.
Human or Altered?
The ruling is yours.
